Community Leader · Warren Grad · Warren Parent · Mom · Advocate · Strategist · Connector

For Samantha Douglas, leadership has never been about titles.

It's about showing up, listening, and building stronger communities.

As a lifelong advocate, nonprofit leader, and community builder, Samantha has spent years bringing people together to solve problems and create opportunities for families across Warren Township and the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. Whether she's leading neighborhood initiatives, organizing residents around shared goals, or advocating for children and families, her work has always centered on one question: How can we better serve our community?

Samantha currently serves as President of the Far Eastside Community Council, where she has helped lead community-driven initiatives that strengthen neighborhoods and connect residents with resources. She also serves as Community Builder for the Far Eastside Quality of Life Plan, working alongside residents, educators, nonprofits, businesses, and public agencies to create a shared vision for the future.

Beyond her community work, Samantha is a communications professional, nonprofit leader, and host of The Black Briefing Podcast, where she helps residents better understand local issues and civic engagement. She believes informed communities create stronger schools, stronger neighborhoods, and stronger futures.

As a wife and mother of four boys, Samantha understands firsthand the hopes, challenges, and dreams that families carry when they send their children to school each day. She believes schools do far more than teach ABCs and 123s. They help shape confident students, support hardworking families, and serve as the heart of a thriving community.

Samantha is running for the Warren Township School Board because she believes our schools deserve leadership that listens, builds partnerships, makes thoughtful decisions based on data and community input, and keeps students at the center of every decision.

I am committed to strengthening the connection between schools and the community, supporting teachers and staff, engaging families as partners, and ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed in an ever-changing world.

My "Why"

Our Kids

Every child deserves more than an education. They deserve to be seen, supported, challenged, and inspired. Our students are growing up in a world that is changing faster than ever before, and our schools have a responsibility to prepare them not just academically, but socially, emotionally, and as future leaders. I want every student to have access to opportunities that help them discover who they are, what they're capable of, and where they belong. When we invest in our children, we invest in the future of our entire community.

Our Families

Parents and caregivers are a child's first and most important teachers. Schools are at their best when families feel welcomed, informed, and empowered to be true partners in their children's education. I believe we must strengthen communication, remove barriers to engagement, and create more opportunities for families to have a meaningful voice in the decisions that affect their children. When families and schools work together, students thrive.

Our Schools

Our schools are more than buildings where students learn. They are the heart of our community. They are places where children develop confidence, build friendships, discover their passions, and prepare for life beyond graduation. I believe in supporting our teachers and staff, making thoughtful, data-informed decisions, and ensuring our schools have the resources they need to meet the changing needs of today's students. We should always strive for excellence while never losing sight of the people at the center of every decision.

Our Community

Srong schools and strong communities go hand in hand. As someone who has spent years building partnerships across our community, I've seen what happens when schools, nonprofits, businesses, faith organizations, and residents work together toward a shared goal. Our schools shouldn't operate in isolation. They should be connected to the people, resources, and opportunities that surround them. My goal is to help strengthen those connections so that every student and every family benefits from a community invested in their success. Together, we can build a Warren Township where our schools don't just serve the community, but help lead it.
